Proverbs 1-2
H - "For Yahweh gives wisdom. From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright." - Proverbs 2:6-7
E - God gave Solomon extraordinary wisdom, and now Solomon is writing that wisdom down on a scroll. He wants his own son to understand that Yahweh is the source of wisdom. He stores it up for the righteous, for those who walk in integrity. God loves to share his wisdom with us. He is for us, not against us.
A - Father, I desire your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. I want the sound wisdom you have stored up for the upright. Am I following the wisdom you give? Am I acting wisely or foolishly?
R - "Jeff, the area where I want to give you more wisdom is in church leadership. Be humble. Let me teach you. Grow as an elder. Pray and visit your people. Show them your loving concern. Specialise in being a servant leader, like Jesus. Meet for coffee with as many people as possible. This is wisdom. Keep trying to understand the good points of Kiwi culture. Don't give up. Be a faithful, available, teachable (FAT) elder."
P - Father, give me wisdom as an elder. I want to really do an outstanding job. Help me to work hard behind the scenes and maintain proper balance. Help me to pray without ceasing for the people around me and to listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
