Proverbs 3-4
H - "Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many. I have taught you the way of wisdom. I have led you in the paths of uprightness. When you walk, your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble." - Proverbs 4:10-12
E - Solomon is instructing his sons (Proverbs 4:1) based on how his father, David, instructed him (Proverbs 4:4). The passing down of wisdom from father to son is God's way. If we walk in wisdom, we will walk without being hampered and run without stumbling. Our life will be blessed. We will be blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:3).
A - Father, am I listening to wisdom? Help me to live skilfully and to help others live skilfully. I met for coffee yesterday with four men. One longs to manage his time more wisely. Father, how can we get more Christian men to live wisely?
R - "Jeff, gain wisdom and then instruct in wisdom. Pass it on. I encourage you to live more and more skilfully and then to guide more and more Christian young men into skilful living. This is very necessary today because the next generation has not been well instructed in wisdom. Western culture is an increasingly foolish culture. When you have recommendations for wise living, share them. Wisdom and discernment are what the Church needs. I will bless your upcoming youth study on the book of Proverbs."
P - Father, please remind me to teach on life skills like time and money management. Your word has a lot to say about these things, and we are wise to listen. May more and more Christian men walk without being hampered and run without stumbling. Amen.
