Isaiah 44-45
H - "'Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn. From my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.'" - Isaiah 45:22-23
E - Isaiah describes how God will raise up a king named Cyrus through whom Israel will be restored to her land. Many will believe Israel is finished, and that the God of Israel is powerless. But at the right time God will act. Through Isaiah, God lets the people of Judea know ahead of time what he will do. God invites all nations to be saved by humbling themselves to him. He is the only God. But whether they do so voluntarily or not, all nations will ultimately bow to him and swear allegiance. In the end, God will get the recognition he rightly deserves.
A - Father, how can I bow before you and live in allegiance to you today?
R - "Jeff, thank you for coming to my word and listening to me each morning. Thank you for the D groups you have started. Keep leading men into my word. Focus on your local church leadership responsibilities. Build up men to be leaders of men. On your trip home today, encourage each child. Pay attention to your four boys--Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David. Bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord Jesus. Produce much fruit by being filled with my Spirit and abiding in my Son. Worship me by offering consistent prayers and petitions. Put on the whole armour of God. Be the best husband, father, and church leader you can be by my Spirit."
P - Father, you are the only Creator, the only God. All those who reject you will face your wrath, and that is fair. You will do what you have said. Help us today to listen carefully to your word, the Bible. Give us wisdom to walk as children of light in this dark, evil world. Thank you we are not of this world. Thank you Jesus' kingdom is coming. Amen.
