Micah 1, 4-5
H - "And he [Messiah] shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God. And they [the remnant of Israel] shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth. And he shall be their peace." - Micah 5:4-5
E - Severe discipline is coming upon Samaria and Jerusalem, Israel and Judah. But there will come a time when God raises up a king from the line of Judah and David. This king will be born in Bethlehem, the city of David. He will bring back Israel to her land and wipe out all the nations allied against her. This is the great Messianic hope of the Jewish people. This person is the Lord Jesus Messiah. These things will take place at Jesus' second coming, when he brings his kingdom to earth and sits on the Davidic throne, ruling over the nations.
A - Father, how may I best prepare for the second coming of Jesus?
R - "Let the world be the world. Nations will persist in ther rebellion against me and against my anointed Son (Psalm 2). Live out the Church age commands. Encourage the fainthearted, rescue the perishing, build Christian leaders who are devoted to me. Get people to tremble at my word. Teach and preach as much as you can. Be absorbed in the knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of my authoritative word. Honour Jesus and point people to the cross. This is how you may be ready for my Son's return."
P - Amen, Father. Thank you for the dispensational view of Scripture, that rightly relates all the parts of Scripture into one comprehensive whole. Help us to teach well the ages of history as we begin to study Isaiah. Thank you for our new adult Sunday school, and may it bear much fruit. Help me to be your servant today, awaiting the Lord Jesus.
